Supervise work activities on site, co-ordinate those under your supervision to work efficiently and productively.  Adhere to all company and site rules and regulations, ensuring a high standard of work to BS7671 is achieved within the agreed timeframe, to the expected standard and in a safe manner.

Health and Safety
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety at Work Regulations, site (CDM) regulations and the company Health & Safety Policy
  • Read, understand and sign risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) and communicate to all within your site team. Including those new to the team or anyone who is working on site for or on behalf of Axon.  Inform PM of any feedback on RAMS
  • Complete and undertake Tool box talks as directed by PM. Attend site CDM Tool box talks
  • Ensure both yourself and those within your site team are adequately trained and competent in the work they are undertaking, including specialist training e.g. IPAF, SPA etc. Report any shortcoming to the PM
  • Ensure plant and equipment used on site is safe to use. Report and defects to the PM.  Do NOT use defective plant or equipment
  • Report all accidents and near misses to the PM and complete follow up reports as required
  • Ensure site team familiarise themselves with site safety including first aiders and welfare facilities
Main Duties and responsibilities – To manage all aspects of this role for the company
  • Familiarise yourself with the agreed ‘Scope of Works’ on the job/project you are supervising
  • Organise and supervise electricians and apprentices within your site team. Control and schedule workload including ordering of additional site materials with the Stores Department
  • Report to the Project Manager (PM) on progress of work through daily correspondence
  • Liaise with the PM on any issues of concern e.g. Scope of Works, documentation, cable sizes, timeframes, other employees/contractors
  • Be ‘hands on’, with electrical installation work and supervision of other electricians and apprentices
  • Liaise with the customer, on any issues raised on site including variations/extras
  • Report all variations/extras to the PM for agreement
  • Plan testing and liaise with the PM as to when/if Inspection and Testing Engineer is required on site
  • Complete Inspection and Testing when required to do so
  • Plan commissioning and liaise with the PM as to when Commissioning Engineer is required on site, ensure installation is ready and all ‘pre-commissioning’ tests are completed in advance of the Commissioning Engineer arriving on site i.e. motor directions, e-stop functionality and verification of plant interlocks
  • Liaise with the PM ahead of travel plans ensuring the PM is aware of site team holidays etc before booking
  • Ensure everyone takes responsibility for both their own and Axon’s hand and power tools on site, checking of the same and reporting any issues to the PM
  • Ensure tool and van checks are carried out and recorded
  • Work with clients in a professional and courteous manner
  • At the end of the job/project, leave work complete with no reason to return i.e. good housekeeping, all snags completed, and labelling and testing documentation is complete
  • Complete weekly personal time sheet and ensure those in your site team do the same, handing it into the PM on a Friday evening or Monday morning, noting any anomalies. Ensure normal time (NT), overtime (OT) and travel time (TT) are accurately recorded
  • Ensure ‘Day Work’ (DW) sheets, ‘machine completion documents’ and ‘expense forms’ are accurately completed when required
  • Check-off site deliveries, ensure delivery dockets are returned promptly to stores for processing
  • Ensure ‘material returns’ documentation is completed accurately for all returning materials into stores at the end of a job/project
  • When required to complete site Inspection and Testing ensure details are correct and all tests are carried out. Including mains supply characteristics
Other Responsibilities
  • Take care of and maintain Axon uniform and PPE. Liaise with the PM when replacements are required
  • Be willing to learn and develop within the role up to and including the ability to carry out Inspection and Testing and basic commissioning. Familiarise yourself in plant operation and set a good positive example in everything you do to encourage others, especially from quality and health & safety perspectives
  • Perform any other duties to the best of your ability as requested by the PM or senior management
