Site Electrician

Complete all installation work as directed by your Site Supervisor or Project Manager (PM).  Adhere to all company and site rules and regulations, ensuring a high standard of work to BS7671 is achieved within the agreed timeframe, to the expected standard and in a safe manner.

Health and Safety
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety at Work Regulations, site (CDM) regulations and the company Health & Safety Policy
  • Read, understand and sign risk assessments and method statements (RAMS). Inform PM of any feedback on RAMS
  • Attend Toolbox talks with your Site Supervisor and when required the site CDM co-ordinator
  • Ensure you are adequately trained and competent in the work you are undertaking, including specialist training e.g. IPAF, SPA etc. Report any shortcoming to your Site Supervisor
  • Ensure plant and equipment used on site is safe to use. Report any defects to your Site Supervisor.  Do NOT use defective plant or equipment
  • Report all accidents and near misses to your Site Supervisor and complete follow up reports as required
  • Ensure you familiarise yourself with site safety including first aiders and welfare facilities
  • At all times promote a safe working environment both within your department and across the company.
Main Duties and responsibilities – Manage all aspects of the role for the company
  • Ensure all work undertaken is completed to the highest possible standard
  • Ensure you are adequately trained and competent to complete the work you are asked to undertake. Advise your Site Supervisor or the PM of any training short comings
  • Report to your Site Supervisor on progress of work
  • Advise your Site Supervisor of any variations/extras to the agreed scope of works
  • Assist the Site Supervisor in any way, including development of apprentices, completion of documentation and help with pre-commissioning and when required, Inspection & Testing
  • At the end of the job/project, leave work complete with no reason to return i.e. good housekeeping and all snags and labelling are complete
  • Aim to be the best you can be. Deputise as Site Supervisor when required as requested by the PM
Documentation
  • Complete weekly personal time sheet, handing it into the PM on a Friday evening or Monday morning, noting any anomalies. Ensure normal time (NT), overtime (OT) and travel time (TT) are accurately recorded
  • Ensure ‘Day Work’ (DW) sheets, ‘machine completion documents’ and ‘expense forms’ are accurately completed when required
  • When checking-off site deliveries as directed by your Site Supervisor, ensure delivery dockets are returned promptly to stores/your Site Supervisor for processing
  • When directed to do so, ensure ‘material returns’ documentation is completed accurately for all returning materials into stores at the end of a project
  • When required to complete site Inspection and Testing ensure details are correct and all tests are carried out. Including mains supply characteristics
Other Responsibilities
  • Ensure annual leave is booked in advance with adequate notice
  • Take care of and maintain Axon uniform and PPE. Liaise with your Site Supervisor or the PM when replacements are required
  • Be willing to learn and develop within the role up to and including the ability to carry out Inspection and Testing and basic commissioning. Familiarise yourself in plant operation and set a good positive example in everything you do to encourage others, especially from quality and health & safety perspectives
  • Perform any other duties to the best of your ability as requested by your Site Supervisor, the PM or senior management
