Aggregate crusher and Sand Wash Plant

We designed, manufactured, installed and commissioned this bespoke control and automation system, under a tight deadline of just 8 weeks.

The plant required a power and control system to take raw material in the form of mixed aggregate material and is crushed, washed and screened into multiple aggregate and sand grades.

The control panel was designed and manufactured by Axon and consists of control and power distribution for 35 motor starters (approx. 1000A in total) which are switched using DOL, S-D and VSD starter assemblies.

The control system was mounted on a Schneider PLC with associated HMI that can be used to control the plant in sequence as per the customer process or manually by the operator for maintenance.

The control system was also required to provide an interface to the associated crushing plant to provide the customer with complete plant functionality from a central operator station.

The panel and associated cabling were installed and commissioned on site by our projects team. This required the installation of approx. 7km of cable in a period of 2weeks including associated instrumentation and lighting systems. The electrical plant commissioning was completed by our site team including interface with auxiliary system e.g. water treatment, to ensure complete plant operation is as per customer specification.
