In conjunction with South West College Axon Power & Control key employees completed a comprehensive management development programme.

The management training programme was co-ordinated through the InnoTech Centre at South West College Cookstown Campus. Research lecturer, Dr Jill Cush explained,

“South West College has been delighted to work with Axon Power & Control in successfully delivering a high quality, flexible training programme to meet their ongoing staff development needs. An important objective of the College is to facilitate local economic development and this joint programme developed with Axon is an excellent example of the Colleges contribution to increasing the skill levels within the local economy.”

Commenting on the success of the programme, John Donaghy, General Manager at Axon Power & Control said,

‘We believe in investing in our staff to ensure they have the necessary skills to help the company innovate and grow. Within the company we consciously focus on improving the core skills of all our staff so the company will be in a strong position to maximise on current and future business opportunities both locally and internationally.”

Dermot Kennedy Head of Business studies at South West College commented that, it was clear that the investment made by the company was already paying dividends through the increased confidence reported by the staff at Axon Power & Control. The training had enabled the participants to address much more complex managerial issues within the organisation.
