Health and Safety
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety at Work Regulations, site (CDM) regulations and the company Health & Safety Policy
  • Read, understand and sign risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) and communicate to anyone working along with you. Inform PM of any feedback on RAMS
  • Complete and undertake Tool box talks as directed by PM. Attend site CDM Tool box talks
  • Ensure you are adequately trained and competent in the work you are undertaking, including specialist training e.g. IPAF, SPA etc. Report any shortcoming to the PM
  • Ensure plant and equipment used on site is safe to use. Report and defects to the PM.  Do NOT use defective plant or equipment
  • Report all accidents and near misses to the PM and complete follow up reports as required
  • Ensure site team familiarise themselves with site safety including first aiders and welfare facilities
Main Duties and responsibilities – To manage all aspects of this role for the company
  • Working through the Projects department, liaise directly with the customer once directed to do so by the PM, to determine the extent of the breakdown or maintenance work required
  • Work quickly and efficiently to get the breakdown corrected so to ensure as little downtime as possible to the customer whilst NEVER compromising H&S
  • Control and schedule workload including ordering of additional site materials with the Stores Department
  • Organise and implement a recorded maintenance schedule for repeat customer maintenance requests. Highlight potential improvements to the customer.  Liaise potential improvements through the PM
  • Report to the Project Manager (PM) on progress of work through daily correspondence
  • Liaise with the PM on any issues of concern e.g. Scope of Works, documentation, cable sizes, timeframes, other employees/contractors
  • Ensure you take responsibility for your own, anyone working with you and Axon’s hand and power tools on site, checking of the same and reporting any issues to the PM
  • Ensure tool and van checks are carried out and recorded
  • Work with clients in a professional and courteous manner
  • At the end of the job/project, where possible leave all works complete with no reason to return i.e. good housekeeping, all snags completed, and labelling and testing documentation is complete
  • Be flexible with start/finish times to get the job done for the customer
  • Aim to be the customers first choice to call for breakdown or maintenance through all of the above
Documentation
  • Complete weekly personal time sheet and ensure anyone working along with you do the same, handing it into the PM on a Friday evening or Monday morning, noting any anomalies. Ensure normal time (NT), overtime (OT) and travel time (TT) are accurately recorded
  • Ensure ‘Day Work’ (DW) sheets, ‘machine completion documents’ and ‘expense forms’ are accurately completed when required
  • Check-off site deliveries, ensure delivery dockets are returned promptly to stores for processing
  • Ensure ‘material returns’ documentation is completed accurately for all returning materials into stores at the end of a job/project
  • When required to complete site Inspection and Testing ensure details are correct and all tests are carried out. Including mains supply characteristics
Other Responsibilities
  • Take care of and maintain Axon uniform and PPE. Liaise with the PM when replacements are required
  • Be willing to learn and develop within the role up to and including the ability to carry out Inspection and Testing and basic commissioning. Familiarise yourself in plant operation and set a good positive example in everything you do to encourage others, especially from quality and health & safety perspectives
  • Perform any other duties to the best of your ability as requested by the PM or senior management
